Using FSA/HSA funds to Cover Your Breastfeeding Twins Class

These steps also apply to having your FSA/HSA funds cover your Lactation Consultation fees if you are a self-pay client!

Superbill Example

Some HSA or FSA plans require an itemized medical receipt; This is different than the receipt automatically sent to you after checking out, because it contains billing codes and provider documentation.

Using your FSA or HSA to cover this class is easy! Here’s what you need to do:

1. Verify your benefits.

First things first: call your HSA or FSA plan administrator to verify your HSA or FSA benefits. Ask if they’ll require an LMN (Letter of Medical Necessity - easily obtained from your Dr. or Midwife) and/or an itemized medical receipt.

2. Purchase your course - you have two options:

  • Purchase the Breastfeeding Twins Class using your HSA/FSA Debit card.

  • Purchase the Breastfeeding Twins Class using your personal credit card or personal debit card, and follow your HSA/FSA administrator’s steps for reimbursement.

3. When you are completing the registration process, if your plan requires an itemized medical receipt, check the option to have one sent to you. Alternately you can email Lindsay here and request the receipt there.

4. Follow your plan administrator’s reimbursement steps.

Your reimbursement steps may vary depending on which option you selected in Step 2.

5. Enjoy your class!
